Posted March 10, 2023 Just installed a new gpu after upgrading from a 1080ti. After installing everything i thought id test it with Mw 2 and the results are a bit underwhelming. I have it capped at 120 fps due to my refresh rate but it doesn't often get to that fps anyway. (116 fps +- , 99%fps = 74...) CPU utilization 64% same with GPU. Edit: Just noticed that its very jumpy 140 FPS -> 55 FPS and so on Specs : i9 9900k , 32gig 3200 ddr4 , Asus maximus XI. Also bought a new PSU , be quiet pure power 12 850W , I connected the gpu with the PSU 12 volt cable. Should i change it and use the 3x 8 pin dongle from the gpu? Any ideas ? MW2 just terribly optimised ? It was a horrible stuttery mess with garbage 1% lows and below expected performance framerates and it was jumping as you say between 144 to 50 and so on like you experience... I upgraded to a AMD 7700x and the stutter all went away, framerates were back to expected and the gaming experience was smooth as silk. The 9900k just can't keep up. If you want to have better performance with the RTX 4080 you need a stronger CPU that is not bottlenecking it. I had to bite the bullet and get a faster CPU and it removed the stutter and low frametimes. The 9900k is a fast CPU, but it was still on 14nm old tech and its soon 5 years old as well.
