27" QHD in the 500 range

Hello! what would you recommend for a 27" in the range of 500 for budget? I´ll be using it for day to day work movies games.. i would like something with 120Hz at least. Basically i want a monitor that i don't have to change in years. I was looking at the G7 but i have never used a curved one before and I´m not sure. What would you recommend?

Hi, I've been using this GIGABYTE monitor for a couple of months, and it has been pretty good for me. It is 1440p@240Hz, with an IPS panel and AMD FreeSync. It has 2x HDMI 2.0 ports unfortunately, but does have a DP 1.4 and Thunderbolt 4 input, as well as 2x USB 3.0 ports. They also have some cheaper 144Hz and 165Hz monitors too. The Samsung G7 was my second choice for a monitor, but I decided against it because of the VA pannel. I prefer Curved panels, especially if you sit close to your monitor, but most Curved panels are VA. There are some great videos on YouTube that go over the differences between IPS and VA, I would watch some and see which ones you think would work better in your situation, because they each have some tradeoffs.

None of it represent the latest VA panel use by Samsung in Odyssey G7 and above model. 

 

I am fans of IPS previously and my last IPS panel is LG 34GN850 which is a very solid IPS monitor. 

 

But I did not regret change to Samsung Odyssey Neo G8 and Neo G9. Both panel is absolutely better than IPS with deeper black like OLED. The viewing anger do not as great as IPS but they is no impact on usage. They is no black smearing or ghosting issue as well for new generation VA panel use by Samsung on Odyssey G7 and above model.

Suggest you get the Neo version. Samsung Odyssey Neo G7 is a very solid mini-LED in VA monitor.

But the neo G7 is only on 32" and up isn't it? i can´t find it on 27" also i want it to be QHD, i don't need 4k right now nor i have a good enough card for it

Oh, in this case, then only G7 but please remember you will not get as near black for this model as G7 didn't use mini-LED as backlighting, it got very poor edge local dimming and you should turn it off.

Is there another monitor then that you would consider better than the old G7? between that and that model is curve and i have always use flat ones I´m again not knowing what to do at all lol

After seen the G7 videos on youtube i took it out from the equation and all curve ones with it so.. Let´s change the question what flat 1440 27" monitor would you recommend with a budget around 500? Took it out all curves ones because for work isn't viable specially for excel sheets at least for me. I´ve been looking around reviews youtube videos etc but I'm lost. Too much information and too many models
