Steps to reproduce/what were you doing before it happened?

Go to the forums home page and try to edit your Status Update from the "Recent Status Updates" column.

What happened?

Can't apply changes to status updates on the "Recent Status Updates" column in the home page of the forum.

Just a hunch but it's possible that it only occurs with status updates that are long or contain large images.

What did you expect to happen?

To see the option to apply the changes just like in the profile page.

The solution offered there doesn't work.

I tested that on Windows, Linux, macOS, Brave, FireFox and Safari - All with the same result.

Maybe it has something to do with large images.

This is

and

there's not anything we can do about it, although you can still use Ctrl/Cmd+Enter to submit.

I see, Thank you for the reply.

People keep opening threads about the issue from time to time and that wastes time and resources that could be used elsewhere,

Is there a way to prevent this?

I have an idea - a thread listing unsolved issues or unsolvable issues,

And adding a rule that doesn't allow opening new threads about issues included in the unsolved issues thread (people should look at the unsolved issue thread to make sure they don't report issues that are already in that thread).

Grand old issue of any bug tracker that I've seen. Easy solution, use search first.

  • 1 month later...

I guess it's time for someone fix this...

And this time it's gonna be me.

I used to be an IPS forum system programmer, doing bug fixes and custom stuff

The cause of the issue is that there is no scrollable CSS class in there

I replaced the class ("ipsDialog") of one of the divs with a scrollable CSS class ("ipsDialog ipsDialog_fixed"), removed "top: 3586.5px;" (It was causing issues) and got this result:

image.thumb.png.52287b1a351dceb3ecba7de0d0945657.png

It works and it's completely functional.
