I think I made a mistake

I understand. Thanks for the feedback.

My question was more regarding the compatibility with the motherboard.
As per the motherboard website: https://www.gigabyte.com/Motherboard/B650-AORUS-ELITE-AX-rev-1x/support#support-memsup
It would apparently not be supported

So I think I will just cancel the order on the ram and buy another one with a lower CL!
Appreciate the help!

It will work.

A few days ago I wrote in here regarding a build that I am doing.

I was just watching the video from JayzTwoCents and after buying all my parts I think I made a mistake.

I bought those sticks of RAM : https://www.amazon.de/gp/product/B0B62WL8MK/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Are they compatible with this motherboard with a Ryzen 7 7700X? If not, which one should I be buying?

https://www.amazon.de/gp/product/B0BJDXDWS9/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Thanks in advance!

Yes you need DDR5

The speed is optimal for AMD= 6000

However the CL is not great.=40

If not a huge difference in price look for CL 28 or CL30

The CL 40 will work fine, but it simple not optimal = might see less than 1% difference in test scores.

Oh. But why isn't it listed as supported on the motherboard website?

Sorry for the question, I am still quite new to understanding the requirements for DDR5 ram.

Is it just that I won't be able to run it at 6000?

MB manufacturers cannot possibly test every RAM. Even the approved one could change revisions without RAM being retested.

Not sure if it could be true, but I always suspect the RAM manufacturers listed could pay a fee to be listed since that helps them sell more. Same way Maytag dishwashers say they are designed for a specific detergent, even if any detergent works. Not sure, but wouldn't surprise me.

There are far to many memory kits for motherboard manufacturers to test all of them. Just because a kit doesn't appear on a QVL list does not mean it will not work.

If you check the motherboard specifications you will see a note that it  supports both EXPO and XMP for memory overclocking. So the modules should be able to work at advertised speeds.

80+ ratings certify electrical efficiency. Not quality.

I understand it better now. Thank You!

Indeed I get that they cannot test everything. I think I will just see it on during the build 😄

Thanks for the explanation
