CF R9 290X or SLI GTX 780 Ti for 3440x1440 gaming

So, I'm going to be getting the LG 34UM95 21:9 monitor along with a rig upgrade this summer, and have been thinking about which GPU set up to go for. My questions are as follows:

 

1. Since I'm going to be building a custom W/C loop, and because two cards look cooler, I'm not interested in the R9 295X2. 
2. Which GPU set up do you think would perform better at 3440x1440, two R9 290X's or two GTX 780Ti's? Bearing in mind the R9 290X's perform better at 4K.
3. Cost is not an issue.

I'd go for the 290Xs. They perform better at high resolutions than 780Tis.

That's pretty much my thoughts exactly. After spending a year with my HD7950 and having experience with Nvidia's cards and software...it's better by a significant margin.

The games you play may matter. Because some games like BF4 will run on AMD cards slightly better. While games like Batman works best with NVIDIA cards.

EVGA Kingpin will be the best 780Ti you can get while the MSI R9 290X LIGHTING is the best card from AMD. Tale your pick both are beast on air and watercooling.

Its still more than 2.5K and even in 1080p, the 780ti hits it's memory limit in games such as Skyrim (with tons of mods).

So i think if you get the 290x's for less its definitely worth the buy over the 780ti's.

Obviously, my vote went to a pair of R9 290X, I have a pair of these awesome cards with EK waterblocks and I game at 5760x1200 and my cards handle many games maxed out even at this res.

I voted CF 290x... at almost £400 cheaper it's hard to justify the 780ti in SLI

So, my main question is, what kind of frame rates would I get with these cards? Both SLI and non-SLI (being, the time between the purchase of the first and the second card, as I cannot afford it at once).

No AMD suggestions, please, I will just not be happy with a team red card. However, any other suggestions would help. (maybe EVGA 770 4GB 3xSLI, because of a lower price point)
