Nvidia GT650M and Powermizer

Ginge620

When i unplug my Asus N56VZ Notebook from power, the GPU seem to under clock itself. In a game say Call of Duty Blacks Ops i get a constant 60FPS when the notebok is plugged into power, but when i unplug it the FPS drops randomly while playing the game, it would go back up for a couple of seconds then drop again to 3-20 FPS. I've Googled a bit and found out about this Nvidia powermizer thing. Does anybody know how to turn it off because i find really irritating.

Yup. I made a software for that (free) :)

http://nvgpupro.com/nvgputweak/

It will detect which GPU you have, which type of system you have, and apply the correct settings for you.

If you run Nv GPU Tweak Tool, and you have options disabled, click on "Override disabled options", then on the following screen "Enable PowerMizer settings", and click on "Set" button. This will patch the driver setting to give the options. Please note: If you reinstall or update the drivers, you'll need to disable PowerMizer again, and you need to restart your computer to see the effects applied. You don't need Nv GPU Tweak tool anymore once you changed the settings. You can delete it, if you desire. The modification will stay until you reinstall or update your Nvidia graphic card drivers.

If the program works for you, and you want to preserve battery life as well, then you can use it in conjunction with Nv GPU Pro software (http://www.nvgpupro.com/nvgpupro/), which control your GPU performance based on what you run, using a community support catalog of games and applications. Its also packed with options.

If you are interested in it, tell me, and I'll see in providing the latest early beta version which I have which support 400, 500, and 600 series GeForce properly.
