Looking for upgrade advise on my current build

SuperWeasel

Budget (including currency): 750 GBP (about 900 USD)

Country: UK

Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: This rig is primarily used for video games as well as video calls with my friends when guest starring on his stream

Other details My current build is:

MB: AORUS B550 Elite

CPU: AMD RYZEN 5 3600

GPU: EVGA NVIDIA GTX 1060 6GB

RAM: TEAMGROUP T-FORCE DELTA 16GB DDR4

PSU: Corsair CX750M

(There is an SSD and a mechanical drive in the system but I doubt these are necessary details for my question)

At some point in the next couple of months, I'm looking to upgrade my GPU to either a Radeon RX 6750 XT or a Radeon RX 6800 XT (depending on pricing at the time of purchase)

I'm wondering if I should upgrade my CPU at the same time for getting better performance out of the new GPU?

I am looking to play some of the latest releases (Warhammer 40K: Darktide is the main title atm) and currently I can only run them on the lowest graphical settings

Any advise is welcome 🙂

1080p or 1440p?

How about upgrading the CPU now, to a 5700X or 5800X3D with additional 16GB of the same RAM and then, in a few months, a Radeon RX  7700XT?

Weakest part is the GPU

For less than £750 you can get a 6900XT, overkill for 1080p but who cares ? 😛
