I'm currently looking up and buying parts for my Christmas gift to myself this year. My first Custom loop water cooled PC.
At this point I got most everything figured out. Except for what I want to house it in. Preferably I would like to have a vertical GPU mount, which obviously cuts down on the possible options a lot. But I would like to see/show off my rbg EK waterblock.

Before someone mentions it. Yes I know of the Hyte Y60, and for some reason I cannot find a Canadian retailer for it that either a) is charging $400+ for it, or b) Doesn't ship it from the US. and I'll be damned I'm gonna pay some stupid over priced shipping despite is being on the same damn continent.

And with the mention of money. My budget for the case is around $200 USD, basically the price of the Y60

All I got for you is “something big” and the YouTube channels jayztwocents and Gamer’s Nexus.  You already know about LTT.  Gamers Nexus does interesting case reviews, and jazstwocents  does some watercooling stuff.  I heard that side air on big cases can be good for watercooling even though it isn’t all that good for air cooling. It’s not much.  Others will likely have much better.

Not a pro, not even very good.  I’m just old and have time currently.  Assuming I know a lot about computers can be a mistake.

Ya, was already aware of them. But only just noticing that there are more cases than I realized that have vertical gpu mounting options. Like the  Corsair x000 series. And while I don't like the glass front panel. Msi has one that looks interesting to

One can also get kits.  With cases beauty is in the eye of the beholder.  There are cases that I think are hideous that others love and visa versa.  With no budget and watercooling it’s pretty much whatever you like the look of that can fit your stuff.

I have bounced around cases for ages from all makes and models, but I've finally found the sweet spot for my own system. The 5000D Airflow is incredibly well built, fun to work in, moddable and versatile. I currently run an XR7 360 in the front and an XR5 240 in the top. I will be switching to 3x360s soon as this setup can no longer handle the heat output now that I've switched to an 11700K that likes to push past 280W.

The 5000D checks all my boxes: good looks, great to work in, lots of configurations, nice designs for drive mounting and plenty of space for running cables nice and hidden. Only thing I can take issue with is the weight, my rig weighs an absolute ton and it's only going to get heavier.

One point to mention though: throw those junk Corsair fans out. They push next to nothing, avoid them, way overpriced and terrible performance for what you're paying. Best bang for buck RGB fans I've found so far are Cooler Master Sickleflows. Go Noctua for areas where you don't need RGB.

The New Machine: Intel 11700K / Strix Z590-A WIFI II / Patriot Viper Steel 4400MHz 2x8GB / Gigabyte RTX 3080 Gaming OC w/ Bykski WB / x4 1TB SSDs (x2 M.2, x2 2.5) / Corsair 5000D Airflow White / EVGA G6 1000W / Custom Loop CPU & GPU

The Rainbow X58: i7 975 Extreme Edition @4.2GHz, Asus Sabertooth X58, 6x2GB Mushkin Redline DDR3-1600 @2000MHz, SP 256GB Gen3 M.2 w/ Sabrent M.2 to PCI-E, Inno3D GTX 580 x2 SLI w/ Heatkiller waterblocks, Custom loop in NZXT Phantom White, Corsair XR7 360 rad hanging off the rear end, 360 slim rad up top. RGB everywhere.

I was impressed with arctic.  Especially the pricing.  $6 for a modified rifle bearing(Fwb) fan made of decent if not  super high end materials seemed like a good one to me.  I haven’t looked at cooler master sickleflows though.  I suppose they could have a rigidity problem or something.  I’m only buying their high static pressure ones also.  Not that I have anything against them, it just wasn’t what I needed. $30 for a fan just sounds insane to me. I could literally buy and replace them 3 times for the same money.

I get the regular RGB Sickleflows not the fancy ones. Their specs are something like 62 CFM and 2.5mm H2O, the Corsairs don't even come close. They work real well even on a thick XR7 rad. and I routinely see them in packs of three for $50 or less on places like Amazon. Don't waste your money on MLs or the "Master Fans".
