Need help resolving optiplex 755 error.

The error codes also the display displayed nothing and the led inside the case is amber

Memory error. Reseat your RAM. If that doesn't solve it, reset your CMOS. If that doesn't do it,, do the whole "1 stick, 1 slot" tango until you find the dead stick or slot. If it just doesn't POST at all during the RAM dance, RIP.

It did not post but the light 4 flashed as well

As in, it didn't POST but only 4 lit up? Or it didn't POST and the code changed to 1,3,4?

When it starts 1 then 4 then 3 but 4 shuts off

So it hangs up on 1,3? And this is after you've reset CMOS and cycled your RAM through each slot?

Yes also I just switched the core 2 duo for a pentium and the pc is not making a beeping sound

Switch the CPU back to the Core 2. Don't change multiple variables at once when troubleshooting. If it doesn't POST at all during testing with the C2D, then go ahead and switch to the Pentium (which Pentium? Not all are supported) and try again.

It’s a pentium that is compatible with this motherboard I checked

the c2d may have been dead also what is the 1 3 4 error

also all of these parts I changed stuff out for are tested working

So if all the parts you're testing with are known to be working but the motherboard doesn't work with any of them, it's a pretty good bet that your motherboard is toast.

The good news is that Optiplex 755s can be had for the low low price of free these days if you ask the right people, so it shouldn't be too big of an effort to get a working system back.

Its all good it was a 6 dollar smokers thrift store pc that has components worth more then its price.

spent like 3 days on its restoration.
