FX8320 + Asus sabertooth 990FX R2.0 + 780Ti

i5-4670k + Asus  z87 sabertooth

The best choice will be personal, depening on the games you play. :D

Get an i5 4670k for the love of 780Ti's.

As for a military themed board, the ASUS Sabertooth Z87 would look nice.

Some games will bring that FX CPU to it's knees. That's where I drew my opinion from. :D

It really depends on your budget.
I'd recommend an Asus Sabertooth 990FX & an FX 8320 which is what I currently use for $335 total.
For about $140 more ($475 total) you can check out the Asus Sabertooth Z87 and the 4670K.

I would obviously recommend going with the FX 8320 route + a good CPU cooler like an NZXT Havik 140 which will allow you to overclock your 8320 to 4.7-4.8Ghz and you'll save a good chunk of money.
I have a 990FX Sabertooth + an 8320 paired with an overclocked Sapphire 7970 and I can tell you right now that it's a really wonderful setup. The Sabertooth is feature packed & overclocks like a dream & the 8320 just loves mowing through workloads with ease.

And I play all sorts of games, from modded Skyrim, Dark Souls, to Assassin's Creed 4, Crysis 3, Thief & even MMOs like the Elder Scrolls Online I have absolutely no complaints.

Why must it be military themed?

Just grab what's cheap since you're on a budget. Why not snag a decent Z97 board and couple it with a i5-4670k.

Here's a cheaper Z97 SABERTOOTH ($180), but you will have to wait until 5/11 to buy it.
