SSD not found in Windows

Matthew J Johnson
Go to solution Solved by mr fobs,

You could try running something like DBAN on it, but I would use it as a last resort as it shortens the drive lifespan by writing 0's to every cell. If you do go this route, unplug any other drive to avoid accidentally erasing another drive.

What would I do if I installed an SSD.  But Windows won't find it even in partition.  But BIOS finds it right away.  Defective SSD?  Its a old Toshiba 256GB SATA M.2 being inserted in a compatible slot.

No the drive was pulled from a Dell.  Then used in a Msi for a while.  As far as I'm concerned it still has Win 10 on it.  No it was not partitioned.  Nor shows up in the Windows partition app.  When I get a proper adapter I was going to see if a Mac can find and wipe it.
