13700K vs 13900K for Gaming with RTX4090

Hello Experts,

Almost everything is ready for assembly...CPU is missing...
im waiting for black friday to save a few bucks, just need you last advice..
Im not planning to OC to much and beat world records, not working with softwares like adobe etc'.. pure gaming... i7 or i9 ?

My Current Setup for the next 5 years are :
MB : MSI PRO Z790 Tomahawk DDR4
RAM : 32G Corsair Vengeance RGB PRO 3600MHz DDR4
PSU : Corsair RM1000 Gold
GPU : RTX4090 Founders Edition
SSD : Corsair Force MP600 PRO PCIe NVMe 1TB

I understand the logic and benchmarks but if you're buying a 4090 and not putting a 13900k with it, you're doing life wrong.

But yeah I wouldn't buy either so ignore my opinion.  I just like talking sometimes.

I went with the 13700K since it has 8 full P cores as the 13900K. The 13900K only has more default frequency and E-cores, and a tiny bit more cache than the 13700k.

 

13700k with a 5.5ghz OC beats the stock 13900k, but the 13600k at 5.6ghz still barely matches the stock 13700k. Clocked the same, the 13900k (and most likely the 13700k) are ~7% faster than the 13600k.

 

Seems small, and it is, but it's enough to want 8 full P cores in 2022 IMO. 13900K doesn't seem worth it since you're mostly just getting more E-cores.

I would get the 13900ks with 6ghz stock to go with a 4090,  and some 8000mhz ddr5 cl30.
