What fitting & soft tube size to get? 12/16?

Kratos

Hi,

Black Friday is comming in just hours so I'm going to make a couple of stuff about what equipment should I buy.

The title says it all. I'm looking for the right size for tubing & fittings. Someone on the forum recommended me 1/2 id and 5/8 od,

I think in Europe that is 12/16 mm for soft tube am I wrong? If so, what other sizes do you recommend. I've seen 10/16 and 10/13 the most but I don't know what pros & cons there are.

12/16 is by far really difficult to find. Also, are there no 90 degree fittings on soft tube? Or they can be used on both soft & hard?

So far I was considering the EKWB EK-Quantum Torque STC-12/16 Nickel for fittings (5.95€ each) I only need about 6 but would be buying 8 just in case and for the tubing EKWB EK-Loop Soft Tube 12/16mm clear, 3m

Not sure if I would need 90º fittings but just to know. My setup is just to cool a 13900K, so far que Quantum Velocity 2 block, the TBE 300 Pump & Res and a Quantum S480 mm radiator in case it helps.

My goal is maximum performance here.

If that's how they are labeled for you over there, then sure. But you need to verify it's for soft tuning. They can't and won't work both ways. There are 90 compression fittings. Just normally cost more than just getting a 90 and another fitting.
Could just get barb fittings that match the inner diameter of the hose. Cheaper and can look better as compression fittings are't needed.

Thank you!

So then there aren't any 90 degree fittings for soft tube? I see 1-2 situations where it might be useful for me.

There are such fittings, just arent as common. Like I said, most people just use a regular 90 and put what ever fittings type you want on it.

they use to sell a barbed 90 but because compression was poplar they just made a 90 with out the barb and you can put w/e you want on it. that and compression 90 are also common. but barbs are kinda out dated and now its mostly compression or hard tube with is all compression

for soft tubing the id dosent really matter as long as all the id is the same. but most common is 1/2 id and 1/8 thick wall any thinner and it will colaps

you can also stretch smaller id over a bigger barb to get an even tighter fit.

i use 10mm ID 16mm OD alphacool epdm with barrow fittings

10/16 is also usable with koolance qdc

technically 10/16 tubing has thicker wall than 12/16 tubing

here's my current build
