What's the best Google Drive like services? Security+price+storage.

Guys, please, what service would you recommend to keep some important files and backups?

 

Is google drive the best one, or are there better alternatives?

I'd argue that there isn't really a "best" alternative. It depends on what you want to use it for and how much storage you need.

 

Since you wrote "some important files and backups" I assume we're not talking about needing massive amounts of storage.

 

If you need 100GB of online storage then it will be hard to beat Google Drive since it's 2 dollars a month. If you need more storage then I think Microsoft 365 becomes very appealing because you not only get 1TB of storage for 70 dollars a year (or 6TB for 100 dollars a year), but you also get access to the Office suite.

 

 

Backblaze is good if you want to use it for backups and backups only. In other words, Backblaze is not a place to upload files to and store, since it will only really store files you got on your PC, unlike Google Drive where you can upload files and then delete them from your PC.

It's 7 dollars a month for unlimited storage (as long as you keep all files on your PC), although I've heard that doing a restore is a pain in the ass and you're better off just asking them to ship you a hard drive with the data on for like 100 dollars.

I use pcloud comes with 2tb of storage, paid £300 one off payment. You can get additional encryption if want. You can sync OneDrive, Google Drive as well. 

There might be a sale going for Black Friday.

Yeah, 2TB would be more than enough. I want to be able to upload my whole PC files if I need to, like a ghost image of my SSD.

 

I was looking for some choices with good encryption, because right now, my whole life is a mess, in terms of security, lmao.

Cloud backup your documents, but just get an external drive for Ghost images. No reason to pay to store a backup copy of your application installs and OS, which can be replaced relatively easily.
