New rx 6900 xt is using less than 100w in game, HELP?

O_Bsnacks

When playing Battlefield 1 I get any from low 170s to mid 190s all ultra settings 1080p, this just seems low to me but I guess this is right because the benchmarks all showing that there are nothing wrong with my parts. But in battlefield 1 get these dips even when playing with v-sync 144hz like it goes to 138 and what not which is weird because when at the 200 fps frame limiter the frames dont go that low. In overwatch 2 I get really bad frames but I think this is due to a bottleneck of the cpu because it is at 100% usage the whole time and gpu is less than 50%.

I haven't played too much OverWatch2 lately, but can look into it.

A 5600X and 6900XT should not have issues with games like OW2 and even Warzone 2 at 1080p.

As for Warzone 2, enable the in-game telemetry options.

They are located in Settings > Interface > Telemetry (you can expand / collapse that menu).

Enable Graphics Card (GPU) Time, and Processor (CPU) Time.

The top left corner should give you times in milliseconds, ms.

Report those values there -- it will jump around so, give us the range.

I'm running max'd settings with FSR / DLSS / etc disabled at 1440p.

I'm getting 120 ~ 140 FPS, but never a solid 144+.

Telemetry is showing 7ms ~ 8ms for both my GPU and CPU.

  Reveal hidden contents

I was helping a friend troubleshoot is low FPS issue in WZ2 last night

We even told him to set the render resolution to 75% (i.e. 1080p), and no change.

He was getting GPU=12ms, CPU=22ms

GPU being a GTX 1660 Super, and CPU a old i7-3770K, with a 1440p monitor.

His situation, the CPU is the bottleneck.

I turned VSR in adrenaline and put it to 1440p and seem to be getting the same range as you. 120 - 140

Update, so overwatch is working fine now 1980p I get 400 500 fox all ultra. But warzone 2 is not good gpu utilization is in the 80% and cpu in 50% but frames at 1080p are in the 100-120. Even if you put all low settings on in this game the gos doesn’t change. And 1440p same thing.

Update, I am still have problems with games. I updated my bios and I also reinstalled drivers for the 100th time. I’m still not getting proper performance. For example in Fortnite I can barley run the game, on epic settings I get like 120fps and the stuttering and dips in performance are horrible it is actually unplayable. Also in Bf1 whenever I try to use vsync my frames never cap 144hz, you would think I would get a solid 144fps playing ultra settings 1080p. Seems as though overwatch is the only game that works, warzone I get 110-144fps no matter if I play on 1080p or 1440p on ultra settings and in 4k about 80-90fps. I know that this isn’t hardware related because I ran benchmarks and they all come back with the right results. Is Amd just not that good?

My brother uses a Ryzen 5800X, and he doesn't have any issues with his setup.

While I've got an Intel CPU (at the moment) with a Sapphire NITRO+ 6800XT.

Setting the graphics to low uses even less of the GPU and the game tilts towards the CPU.

Did you enable DOCP in the BIOS?

Memory is running at DDR4-3600, confirmed?

Yes D.O.C.P is enabled. My problem now is just the microstutters. I can live with the low frames but I just want it to be smooth which it is not. I might re install windows because I know this works. I found that enabled vsycn always on in andrenline then fixes battlefield.

Okay, thanks.

The video clip is fine.

I'll need to watch the video more closely later (I'm still at work 😶).

See if turning down the Video Memory Scale a little bit helps.

In Warzone 1, the game had some sort of VRAM memory leak, and as the game goes on, it will use more VRAM than what the graphics card has.

When that happens, you will get stuttering / micro stuttering.

I am not sure if Warzone 2 fixed that problem -- but I have the Video Memory Scale set to 70 (from the default 85).

Even then, I can see the game using ~13+ GB of VRAM.

Bump the resolution to take the load off the CPU. Do the stutters go away?

No, I turned resizeable bar off and it seems to have gotten smoother but no I don’t know if I decreased performance.

Did you actually try to raise the resolution like I suggested?
