Is my OC stable?

Im on a z390 aorus ultra 9700k at 5.1ghz. 1.35v turbo llc. Vrvout reads 1.28 roughly under load. It passes occt extreme large avx2 but errors avx2 small. Passes sse small but draws 200w and is at around 95c at that point. Scored 3980 in r20, could eek out a couple more points if i closed hwinfo. Is it stable or does it have to pass occt small? For reference it doesnt pass even if I bring vcore to 1.38 or 1,39. I also throttle there.

Stress test the CPU with cinebench, if it passes a several rounds of benchmark (2 or 3), then it is stable.

Then if your not worried about it why are you asking? Any errors is unstable to me. You never know how its going to be hit but you do you.

Disagree.  I followed that one, but I was still getting a random crash about once a week or so.

How much No do you want?  Is it 100% stable?  No.  Is it stable for what you do?  Maybe.  Enough anyway.  It depends.  My criteria was “does the machine crash for no other reason?” When I passed the check mentioned (at I think 4.7) it still did.  I had to eventually my put up with a .5ghz overclock when some people with golden chips were getting 1.5ghz overclocks.  That’s why they call it the silicon lottery. One definition of insanity is doing the exact same thing over and over and expecting a different result.  This one is asked and answered like 4 times now. I’ll give you the most positive answer you’ve gotten so far even though you keep asking the same thing again and again like there is only one possible answer you want. It’s probably unstable for what you do with it but it might not be.  So do whatever you do and see if it crashes in an hour, a day, a week, or a month.  Maybe even not at all.  That was my requirement. Then decide if the problems you experience from these crashes is acceptable to you or not.  That still won’t mean it’s stable though.  Just stable enough for what you do.  Maybe not stable enough for what someone else does, but for you? Sure.  I suspect many claimed overclocks are that way.  If I was willing to accept one crash a week I would be able to run my machine at 4.4ghz.  (Up from 3.5) so nearly a full ghz of overclock.  Double what I have now which is a ‘mere 4.0.  But I’m not.  So I don’t.  If ALL the chips they sold went to 5.1and were stable, guess what they would sell them as?

Ok I’ll keep it here then… should I worry about any degradation to the point where I can’t run stock settings without crashing?

Cinebench is a benchmark, not a stress test. There are other programs that will work your cpu a lot harder.

AIDA64 or Prime95 small fft test, are what I use when setting up my OC.

I use Linpack Xtreme, TM5, pi mod 32m, and a few others. I was just saying that using CB as a stress test is not the best of ideas.

Stress test with both AVX and non AVX instructions, if one is unstable then you can adjust things (one possible way is with the AVX offset option) until they are both stable.

P95 is a power virus mostly useful for checking power delivery and cooling ability.  These don’t seem to be your problem.
