Standing Desks

Wictorian

Those who have experience with standing desks, do you recommend them?

Yeah, IF you'll actually stand.

Electric motor standing desks are best.

They can be as cheap as like 2-350 USD.

I hate them.

I do plenty of standing and running around as it is; If I'm at my desk, I'm sitting.

Some joker thought they were being funny by raising my desk when I was off-shift, so I unplugged it. Then they'd plug it back in, raise it, and unplug it again. Now it's the height I want it, and its power cord is pinned under a heavy cabinet.

I sold my soul for ProSupport.

My question is, does it make sense to stand? I hate sitting but maybe I will hate standing even more.

A mix of standing and sitting throughout your day will help with your health. One of my coworkers got severe back pain issues. Then he got a motorized desk and his back pain is much better now.

If someone did not use reason to reach their conclusion in the first place, you cannot use reason to convince them otherwise.

So I've been told.

I think Intel's factory tour showed obligatory 30 minute standing to exercise sessions.

Some people love it.

I think I saw in a meet the office video from LTT, Jonathan horst liked standing. I think Riley did too in his how a tech linked is made video.

You can try atting them here to see what they think of standing at work.

Also Luke used to stand at one point.
