So i received my pair of HyperX Cloud today, essentially a rebranded pair of Qpad QH-90, also the Takstar Pro 80 is build upon them, or however you say that :(

Was just wondering whats a good way to burn in a headset, set them over a chair and blast a playlist over and over again while going to work? or is there some sort of special method to it?

They also feel a tiny bit tight on the bottom of my head out of the box, im guessing that obviously down to them being brand spanking new and the fact that i have never owned a pair of over the ear headphones, so im guessing stretching them out over a chair while burning them in is gonna help with that aswell.

They sound good out of the box tho, never owned a pair of over the ear closed headphones before, i read nice things about the Qpad and since the HyperX just came out and is actually cheaper, i thought what the hell, might aswell get a pair and try them out :)

the best burn in is the one when they are on your head.

if you think that burning in will have an effect, play pink noise when you aren't using them, but don't avoid using them because you haven't burned them in. just use them. if they burn in, they do, but more likely you will become more accustomed to the sound signature and enjoy them more as time goes on.

Obviously gonna use them, i know you gotta get used to something new, i have been using on ear open headphones for a good part of 10 years now, so they are surely gonna sound different for a while, what "worries" me atm is the clamping force, wich i know is gonna get better and better when wearing them, but i could imagine throwing them over a the back of my chair when not at home should stretch them out a bit?

Clamping force can be solved with streching, burning in does nothing to very unhearable little.

Guess i will come to my senses then and no, im pretty sure a pair of headphones in this range doesn't need 400+ ohm to run em, im running mine through a nuforce udac2 am/dac atleast.

ill have mr krueger help stretch them out a bit while not at home (http://i.imgur.com/WDL3XKU.jpg)

Burn in does very little, psychological influences play a much larger factor. And not just placebo either. Things like how much you pay attention to the music, your mood, and simply how long you've had to adjust to the headphones.

do they need 400+ Omhs to run? if not they dont need any burn in time.

EDIT: and the maker already tested them for HOURS and HOURS to check the quality, shoudnt be any real difference

Not necessarily true, especially with cheaper stuff. With higher end products they definitely test and cherry pick, but certainly not with things under $150ish

Yes, stretch them out over something if you need to, but don't hassle yourself with burn in.
