My Beyerdynamic DT 900 Pro X broke, so I'm looking for some headphone recommendations

Grizzlah

Heya, I'm looking for some recommendations for a headset as I had a pair of Beyerdynamic DT 900 Pro X which were unfortunately faulty. They had bad connections inside the left ear cup and the head strap leather was falling off, which is apparently a known issue.

Now, I'm not 100% against the idea of getting another set of Beyerdynamic's, though that experience did leave a bad taste in my mouth so to speak. This is due to the alleged limitations of ordering spare parts in the United Kingdom due to no longer part of the EU. Though I was fortunately able to get an RMA as the headset wasn't even 1yr old.

What I'm looking for:

Price: 220 GBP (250 USD) or to that approximate value. I'm, willing to go a bit above that budget if it gets me a more suitable product.

Usage: Gaming, VoIP, listening to music and watching movies/series

Drivers: Would prefer decent stereo headphones as opposed to a 5.1 or 7.1 headset as the concept still sounds somewhat gimmicky to me

Soundstage: Looking for something fairly natural and balanced without a heavy lean towards any particular direction.

Wired/Wireless: This isn't a major factor to me

Connector: Prefer 3.5 mm jack if going wired, but I'm willing to look at USB.

Design: Over ear, prefer open back as they will be for home use only, though will also consider closed if they are good.

Microphone: I'd prefer not to have a microphone attached, as I'd rather spend that money elsewhere, and I have a dedicated condenser microphone already

Materials:: Prefer fabric or soft leather to prevent sweaty ears after long usage.

Grip: Not too tight on the head, as I have a slightly larger head, but not so loose they will side around.

Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated, thank you!

Sennheiser HD 560S sounds like a decent fit for the budget and requirements

Yeah, I've had a couple Sennheiser in the past and nothing but good experiences, how does the 560s compare to something like the 599's?

The 560S are more like the 600 series rather than the rest of the 500 lineup.

I would like to correct my post, after looking at my RMA of my previous headphones, as it just got approved. My budget is actually a bit higher than I thought. It's 219 GBP (250 USD) not 150. Would you still recommend the 560S even if my price range is higher?

I would HIGHLY recommend the Rode NTH-100 to just about anyone.  But I would look into the RMA requirements in the UK because even though they are SOLID they won't hold up to something like full body weight (that's not how I borked mine, honest, buuuut no more expensive headphones while I sleep).  Rode has excellent customer service in the states.

Also they sound great on anything, even a phone but there is still more to gain from an improved chain between the 1's and 0's and your ear holes.  They have cooling ear pads which I thought was a gimmick until I actually tried them this summer.

Easy to drive, comfortable, excellent sound, great company

Though I do have to defend Beyerdynamic, I haven't the slightest how you broke them in a year.  My blind friend has been using a pair of DT770-80 8-14 hours a day for about 3 years and the pads are just now getting flat, I got them because they were recommended as being bullet proof.  His last pair was Sennheiser 599SE that never broke after about 6 years the ear pads fell off so I just up and bought him the DT's.

Faulty headset as opposed to misuse as I was very careful with them, and didn't sleep in them or throw them around, the leather underneath the headband started pealing off and there was a faulty connection in the left cup, Though this is purely speculative, it might've been a fault with an early batch as I got that headset not long after it came out. I've heard similar issues with the 990 Pro X but not other models of Beyerdynamic's.
