Google Gboard Stick Edition

Behind that search engine, there is a lot going on at Google, from how their search algorithm is done with pigeons, to the Google Gnome, and their most recent announcement of their 7 series Pixel. There is a lot of fascinating happening at Google, and the it just gets even better. Adding the newest (not really knew it was published 4 days before their Pixel) product to their list is the Google GBoard Stick Edition.

As designed, the keyboard is an extraordinary 5.25 feet (1,600 mm) long. If you think that's lengthy, the company said the original prototype was 7.87 feet (2,400 mm) long. The keyboard uses 17 boards total, including 16 for mounting the keys and a control board.

Typing on it must be extremely fun when your buddies can join in and help you type that 50 page essay, but if you're going solo, perhaps typing like your playing the piano or better yet, type it like your a keyboard rockstar playing on the electric guitar.

Google will not be mass-producing or selling it, but there are GitHub files available with open source firmware, circuit diagrams, and design drawings to build the keyboard yourself. The GitHub page is careful to note that "this is not an officially supported Google product." Google Japan's blog post from Saturday said you could make the Gboard Stick Version with a 3D printer.
