Is the 2060 good enough?

I'm looking for a cheap GPU for under $400 CAD. And i came across the 2060, i was looking at the 1660TI but i dont think it's going to cut it. Im wanting to play most of these games at high settings

 

What would you guys recommend?

 

Games im wanting on play:

- Modern warfare 2

- Minecraft

- Star citizen

- Apex Legends

- Far cry 6

- Diablo 3 / 4

- Tarkov

- Euro Truck Simulator 2 ( TruckersMP )

1660ti/super can be fine for med/low end.

1080ti, 2000 RTX or above to 3000 cards.

GTX cards having less support than RTX cards.

RTX cards have access to DLSS 2, but other cards you can use AMD's FSR tho.

 

for high or good with a good resolution, 3060/ti or similar newer GPU, for newer games.

other of those games are old and not as GPU demanding, some being more CPU.

I will also add that eBay has some good deals on 6600 XTs. You can't get one for around $230 shipped right now.

Okay so i can get the RX 6600 XT for $379 and for the RX 6600 i can get it for $299

Value wise, RX 6600 is better, 6600 XT is only about 8% faster than 6600, but the price increase is about 25% more or so. 

So, it is up to you. Personally, I'd get the 6600 XT, because I'd like my purchase to still be able to satisfy me way down the road, like 3 or 4 years. And that small percentage gain, down the road it might just be the edge between stable 60 fps or not.

I've literally ran ETS2 on a GTX 550Ti at 1080P with practically medium to high settings hovering around 50-60 FPS. Tells you how well optimized that game is.

I've been using a 2060 for a little bit now and while I can't say much for most of the games you listed, Minecraft has been running perfectly for me, even started using shaders and it runs like butter at 1080p, I don't know what res your monitor is, so your millage can vary.
In terms of pricing though, the rx6600 would probably be a better deal overall unless you find a 2060 or something beefier on sale.

Yeahhhh, i cant run truckersmp on low. Because i get like 4 fps at traffic jams. But i currently have a gt 1030 so. Literally anything would be an improvement, I'm probably going to get the RX 6600

My monitor is 1080p 160Hz

The cheapest one i could find is the RX 6600 Gigabyte 3 fans at $358.98. Which im totally fine with. I just gotta save up now. Thanks guys

you could also see if price changes for AMDs 7000 GPUs, but might not change your choices.

True, they come out in October correct? If so I'll wait, i can deal with my crappy GT 1030

CPUs are first like this month, GPUs is not fully announced yet. but they said later this year, so maybe nov to december (could be delayed too).
