Problems with 1080p blue ray player on 1440p Ultrawide

Hi guys! 
i bought a 1080p blue ray player from Phillips. It’s the BDP2800/12. it has one hdmi port. On my normal 1080 TV it works amazingly and looks nice. Problem is it doesn’t work at all on my 1440p ultrawide. It’s a curved Monitor from LC power/ Sceptre depending on where you live I guess. On my Ultrawide i only get flickering and weird pink stripes. Do you guys have any idea what the problem could be?

Have you tried swapping cable? Different input? Changing colourspace on your Blu Ray player?

I have tried different cables, the blue ray player only has one hdmi port so I can’t switch that up. What does changing colorspace mean?

Maybe you don't have it on your option, it's to select either YCbCr or RGB. What about HDMI deep colour?

What input resolutions does your 1440p Ultrawide monitor support? Have you connected any regular 16x9 1080p input signals to the monitor before?

 

To me, it sounds like an unsupported resolution on your monitor.
