Trying to use the new PS5 1440p feature but not working out?

ElUber

Hey! I just updated my PS5 and wanted to finally change the resolution to the same resolution that my monitor (ROG Swift PG279) supports but i am not having any luck? The PS5 just says that my HDMI device doesn't support 1440p output.

Got any idea what's the issue and what i can do about it?

Edit: I think i figured out the issue, i have an older elgato capture card plugged in in the middle of the console and monitor and apperently it didn't support 1440p passthough. Do you guys have any idea how i could solve this problem without having to buy a new 200$ capture card? To clarify i need the capture card in the setup so that i can hear the games i play when i am on discord with friends on my pc (i have a dual monitor setup)

are you using the HDMI Cable that came with the PS5?

Edit: Also keep in mind, this monitor will only do 1440p @ 60Hz  through HDMI since it only has HDMI 2.0
