Missing pieces please help

Go to solution Solved by Zagna,

I bet it's currently between the motherboard and case, just rattling in there.

So open the other side of the case and look for it or tilt the case, maybe it'll get out or remove the motherboard to get at it.

Hi there I'm installing a new CPU fan the be quiet dark rock pro 4 and when I'm adding the screws in I notice there is a pice missing from my motherboard can anyone show me a picture so I know what to look fot

You need the AMD backplate, it was that thing that came off when you removed the plastic clips.

I got these but I have no where to screw it

Yup this.
And they can look like this (but can also be another design);

The four inner holes are what is going to be your backplate (likely) and then the two separate pieces go up-down on the sides with the middle part facing toward you, screw the sides down, then the middle lump is where you mount the cooler to.

These holes are complete empty so I can't screw nothing in

Ah yes, that cooler has a different system.
I would higly suggest checking the manual, as i would just be repeating what it would say in there.

In the manual it shows the shorter metal bracket (with only 2 holes) are the AMD ones, but i think they will need to be accompanied by the AMD spacers to be fit correctly.

Here's the manual.

All AM4 Motherboard comes with an AM4 backplate, like what @HanZie82 shown you.
Dark Rock Pro 4 installation requires that.

If you lost your backplate, you can buy from Amazon, or try asking one from your motherboard vendor.
https://www.amazon.com/DGZZI-Backplane-Heatsink-Motherboard-Mounting/dp/B084GQFFBY/ref=sr_1_3?keywords=am4+backplate&qid=1661971516&sr=8-3

If you just bought that motherboard brand new and it doesn't come with the backplate, ask one from the store I guess

There is approximately 99% chance I edited my post

did you take the backplate out? or was it missing when you got the mobo? if it was missing when you got the board, and it was new, i would return it for another as the backplate and clips are supposed to be included with am4 boards afaik.

@PoinkachuBrings up a valid point.
You would need an AM4 backplate anyway.
Check the motherboard box it might still be in there, or maybe the bag the motherboard was in.
Else you could always get a 3rd part one, but i'd first check with the place of purchase what they can do for you if you dont have said backplate.

(As it should come with the motherboard as standard)

Glad you found it.

Only reason i said look in the box is because it all looked so clean i thought it was new.  So you have that compliment. 😄
