Looking for help to complete my build.

I have picked up almost everything from my list I just need to purchase the case, the motherboard, and the fans but I am slightly stuck. Is this the best mobo I can buy near it's price point? I would not mind spending a little more if I can get a better mobo. Also, anyone have any recommends for case fan splitters? I need two that wont set my pc on fire. Thanks again!

I can suggest some improvements, same budget $1400 (your board had no price)

- B550 nice board

- 3600CL16 RAM, best for Ryzen

- much cheaper cooler, quite good enough for a 5600X

- Faster SSD

- much cheaper 650W PSU, you really don't need 850W (system needs 400W...)

Thanks Ill be watching the reviews on this mobo! Do you have any recommends for case fan splitters? I get nervous when I see the reviews that people are setting their pc's on fire.

Case wise look at the zalman i3 neo at 70$ or if you dont like rgb the zalman s2 at 60$, the i3 has 4 fans and the s2 has 3 fans both complete wirflow configurations so no need to buy fans

Board wise look at the b550m aorus pro p, 110$ but amazing i/o for the price, you can even downsize to an matx case like the matrexx 40 3f argb

Subtimings > primaries

Spoiler

5-7-5-14 vs 7-7-5-14 at 1000mhz ddr2 has no diff, thats basically cl15 vs cl21, the other primaries are also quite insignificant

The real performance benifit is from low trfc and tight sr dr and dd subtimings, i mean running 1520 7-9-6-9 on my extreem dark nukes performance because one of the sr/dr/dd timings was set to 15 cause it was being a PITA to set, and thats just nuking 1 of the subtimings, i think some other subtimings also matter alot maybe twr or tfaw but havent screwed around much with those timings, this is literally why bdie absolutely obliterates everything even with loose primaries cause the damn subtimings time incredibly tight

Mobo dont contribute to performance unless if you are overclocking but cpu overclock is dead, gpu overclock isnt dependant on mobo, and most boards even bottom of the barrel boards can still reach 5000mhz (even a god damn b550mh) which a few good but somewhat uncommon (unless you are buying specific sticks like crucial/micron bare pcb) ics can do, mainly 8gbit micron rev e, hynix djr (inconsistent, some clock >5600 some fail to do pathetic 4600), samsung bdie (very heavy on the imc so hard to reach high speeds also inconsistent), and 16gbit micron rev b. But this is only for the ppl that wanna bother with the extra 5% or so extra performance boost over being smart and just slapping on someones oc profile (w same ic) on your ram which gets you 95% of ram oc benifits while not being a PITA and trust me ram oc is a MASSIVE PITA, especially without proper guidance like on my old ddr2 as theres literally no info on it other than some threads from 14+ years ago. Besides you prob wont notice the extra performance over normal 3200 cl16/3600 cl18 other than maybe the lows but that dont matter outside of esports stuff

B550 is newer and has PCIe4, and the Aorus Pro has more USB ports

But overall CPU performance will be the same

Thanks for all of your valuable feedback, so over all is my build going to be good to go right out of the box? I think the last thing I need to figure out is my fan splitters situation now.

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07KGYG8N7/ref=ox_sc_act_title_2?smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER&psc=1 Fans

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B08C7BGV3D/ref=ox_sc_act_title_4?smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER&psc=1 Case

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00KG8K5CY/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?smid=A1Z5H6ZGWCMTNX&psc=1 Splitters I was considering.

Im not 100% certain that my splitters are compatible with my fans? Im 100% ok with just letting the mobo control the fan speed. Tho I heard that these fans can run up to 1400 rpm will they just idle near 900 rpm unless I can change that in the bios? Im ok with them running at 900 if that's the default speed seeing as these are not pwm fans.

Why don't you get PST daisy chainable fans like Arctics or Lian Li so you don't even need a splitter ?

Im still pretty new to this Ive only ever used fans that came with a pc before so Im still ignorant on what's out there. I mostly chose these fans because I liked the led and the price was good for my budget.

Ok that's why I recommend you get chainable fans 🙂

If you're going to buy Corsair stuff a splitter won't work for their RGB you gotta get a cash grab Corsair fan hub ...

Then get a pack of Arctic PST PWM P12 or P14 fans, best price/perf all around
