Best Quiet Power Supply ~750W

Mendokusai
Hey guys,

Like the title suggests, I'm looking for the best quiet power supply around 750W.

I'm currently trying to decide between:

(green=likered=dislike)

  1. Corsair AX760 - 80Plus Platinum, fan stays off until 70% load (but 40~50% have been reported), no real-time monitoring, pricey
  2. Corsair AX760i - 80Plus Platinum, fan stays off until 20% load, real-time monitoringpricey
  3. Corsair RM750 - 80Plus Gold, fan stays off until 40% load (but 60% have been reported??), very limited real-time monitoring, 3/4 the price of the AX models
  4. And any others you guys recommend! (Please introduce me to other models & brands!)

Zero RPM mode is a must.

Being able to monitor the PSU's detail activities is nice.

I'd like to have 80Plus Platinum but Gold works too.

I'd say either the RM Series or the AX760. I really like the look of the RM Series cabels and that is why i went for the RM1000.

Anything Be Quiet! is amazing, just finding a retailer in north america is hard. Idk how their how long until the fan goes on, but I bet you won't even be able to hear the fan unless you are watercooling :P

Go with trusted brands such as Seasonic, Corsair, XFX, Cooler Master, even EVGA makes some good PSU's. There is no "best" PSU. But, out of the 3 you listed, I'd go with the RM750, Gold efficiency is outstanding.

The RM series also have shorter warranty and lower electrical specs. I don't know where you heard that the AX760 stayed on at 70% load though. The RM750 shown to have done that one TPU and [H] review; however, that was a defect in which Corsair had to fix.

How much each of them cost from where you are buying it at? Can you provide a link to the store you are buying from?

EVGA 750W G2

Read this review. It's for 1000W model put it applies to 750W as they are the same platform

http://www.jonnyguru.com/modules.php?name=NDReviews&op=Story&reid=346

10 Year warranty, fan won't turn on to a certain percentage load, fully modular, great OEM, and nicely sleeved cables

Plus, you're getting EVGA support, which is legendary

CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 3700X - CPU Cooler: Deepcool Castle 240EX - Motherboard: MSI B450 GAMING PRO CARBON AC

RAM: 2 x 8GB Corsair Vengeance Pro RBG 3200MHz - GPU: MSI RTX 3080 GAMING X TRIO

RM psu's arent worth their money and their I series aren't really quiet psu's with their garbage fan profile which is extremely annoying. I would just vote for a 750 G2 it's just a nobrainer especially for its price, not much competition out there.

Corsair's own website claims the 70% figure, but TPU tested and the result was 40% or so and TPU pointed to higher ambient temps.

As of the store I'll be buying from, it'll always be NCIX (http://www.ncix.com/).

The EVGA G2 looks really impressive, and I'm thinking I might just get that instead!! But I'm just wondering if there are any other PSUs that offer a similar feature set? If there's one like it but with 80 Plus Platinum or real-time monitoring, I won't mind paying a bit more.

You're just going to play with that feature for like 10 minutes then you wouldn't ever use it again.
