27" 1080P Monitor Options

Howdy,

 

I currently have a AOC 32" curved 75Hz monitor I use for daily tasks.  Well I didn't plan on it, but I started gaming & I'm looking to upgrade my monitor for the higher refresh rates in Esports titles.

I don't need anything fancy just a solid upgrade from my current monitor.

 

Budget: Around $200 USD 

 

The 2 that I've been looking at in the 27in range @ 1080p are 

LG 27GN65-B

ViewSonic OMNI XG2705

 

Which one do you think might be the superior product?  Or if you have any other suggestions that would be great.  My current card is a RX580 8GB  - Will hopefully upgrade later down the road.

I adore LG's monitors, it's worth the extra 20$

Anything over 24" at 1080p is terrible due to pixel density, if you want a larger than 24" monitor you need to bump the resolution up. If you want a high refresh 1080p display get a 24" monitor.

27" 1080p is not asgood as it might sound.

Are you sure you want to get a 1080p monitor at 27"? I personally think 23"/24" is the ideal size for 1080p, and for 27" the jump to 1440p is very noticeable.

Well, I'm currently using a 32in at 1080p and it's not really bothering me.  I'm sitting back in a recliner with a controller.  So a very casual expierence.  I'm already nervous about dropping to 27 because I'm used to 32.  I have a 24in as a 2nd monitor and it feels so small.

I will go for LG 27GN65-B as ViewSonic had bad experience for me, I own two and two got issue.

 

But still I will not recommended 1080p in size above 24/25". I do own 34" Ultrawide in 1080p (equivalent to 27" Wide), it is usable but it is pixelate obvious.

Shocking you are ok for 32" in 1080p, that is disaster output to me and I believe many people as well.
