Finally upgraded to a 30 series GPU but they only have DP or HDMI. My monitor is DVI. I'm confused about DisplayPort and Active DisplayPort adapters.

For only 60Hz, you don't need an active adapter. Any cheap HDMI to DVI adapter can manage 1080p60. It's for 144Hz that it becomes important.

What do I need? Price of the GPU already hurts, I'm not trying to buy some expensive adapter. Just something to connect my 1080p 60hz monitor to. I can't afford to upgrade the monitor yet. I'm more then content with it for now anyway.

Primary PC:

i7 8086k - EVGA Z370 Classified K - G.Skill Trident Z RGB - WD SN750 - Jedi Order Titan Xp - Hyper 212 Black (with RGB Riing flair) - EVGA G3 650W - dual booting Windows 10 and Linux - Black and green theme, Razer brainwashed me.

Draws 400 watts under max load, for reference.

 

How many watts do I need? ATX 3.0 & PCIe 5.0 spec, PSU misconceptions, protections explained, group reg is bad
