ram locked on 2133mhz

Stefa

i just bought 3 things on amazon, a new motherboard, a ryzen 5 5600x and 8gb of ram.

when i was done building the new parts, windows booted fine, i opened task manager and it told that the ram was at 2133mhz instead of 3000mhz, which is the speed of the ram i bought.

i am scared to change bios settings and i didn't even see anything related to ram speed. does anyone know how to change the speed to 3000mhz? thanks

cpu: r5 5600x

mobo: asus prime b450-plus

ram: corsair vengeance LPX 3000mhz 1x8 gb

Did you enable XMP (or whatever the equivalent is in your board's BIOS)?

I sold my soul for ProSupport.

You have to enable DOCP in the BIOS of the motherboard.

But eh... 1x8GB is the only RAM you have? Single channel RAM is holding up de performance of Ryzen.
