Extra Removeable drives showing up - possibly to do with virus?

UpwardFleet

So the other day my Kaspersky Anti Virus protection said a file 'WORM.WIN32.STUXNET' had been found, quarantined then deleted after a restart etc

I am still paranoid it is still there and when I go into task manager into performance it says there are extra removable drives F:, H:, I:, J: which I dont have plugged in, never have and also dont show up in file explorer.

Am I being paranoid or is the virus still here?

Any help would be appreciated

Cheers

Did you check Disk Management which is also named Create and Format Hard Disk Partitions?

It could be just partitions and not extra drives! Worth a check!

Does your PC have a built-in card reader?

I had a micro sd card/ sd card reader with about 4 ports on which I've now just unplugged and it seems to have gone.

So I think I'm just being paranoid that it has to do with the virus. I've done full scans and backed everything up but is there anything else you would suggest to do.

Cheers

I guess that is it then, considering you had exactly 4 extra drives show up!

4 drives is normal for card readers, even if they support 6 card types or however many some use the same actual interface/drive.

if it's got a Micro SD and SD slot they appear as the same drive. Another interface does that, I think CF and MD
