3060 Ti low power draw ?

FunkyBokito

Hi there!

I noticed my 3060 Ti (Inno 3D 2x Twin OC) caps at about 140 watt when playing heavily demanding games.

This card should be able to pull atleast 200. It has a single 8 pin PCIE connector. and there's 8 pins on the PSU side. On the GPU side tho there is a split end which is just hanging lose there (Yes, the main 8 pins are plugged in the GPU properly). Not sure if that matters or changes anything but just wanted to let it know.

If i'm not wrong should't the GPU be able do draw 150w from the PSU and another 75 from the motherboard?

Hope someone can help me out with this issue.

Thanks in advance!

Specs:

ASUS TUF Z490-Plus

10850k

CoolerMaster 850w Gold PSU

3060 Ti.

That is totally fine, as long as the clocks are normal.

Software power reporting is generally not that accurate and the card will only pull as much power as it needs based on the workload.

Thankyou! Finally.. I have been asking this on so many forums and not a single person that could tell me if this was normal or not. Sorry, just a bit of a vent.

Anywas, yes, the clocks are fine. Thanks for the explenation!

3060Ti spec is 200W so yes it should go there by default, obviously it's if it's being loaded enough. Use Afterburner or HwInfo to look at power draw and it should be accurate.
