Twitter to Shut Down TweetDeck for Mac on July 1

ma3str0

Twitter is shutting down tweetdeck for Mac on July 1st but may not affect many considering the web version will still be up. But they might put the web version on to Twitter blue their subscription service
Quote

"News of the company shutting down the app comes amidst speculation that TweetDeck will eventually become a part of Twitter Blue, Twitter's premium subscription service."

I think this is not that important of a shutdown but it may impact tweetdeck users if it were to become a part of twitters subscription service

The person behind the Better TweetDeck extension was talking about creating an alternative to it in case they put it behind a paywall, hopefully that comes into fruition

EDIT: found out about this: https://tweetenapp.com/

If all the functionality is duplicated in the web app (which I think it may be, though I'm not totally sure) then I don't really see the problem with this.

Thanks for reading all this by the way!

By the way, my desktop is a docked laptop. Get over it, No seriously, I have an exterrnal monitor, keyboard, mouse, headset, ethernet and cooling fans all connected. Using it feels no different to a desktop, it works for several hours if the power goes out, and disconnecting just a few cables gives me something I can take on the go. There's enough power for all games I play and it even copes with basic (and some not-so-basic) video editing. Give it a go - you might just love it.
