arctic liquid freezer wierdly high temps

orze

so i got the original arctic liquid freezer had it for about 3 years on my 1920x and i just upgraded to a 5950x.

got a am4 mount locked in perfect but i noticed temps are preety high.

idle is around 55-60c and benchmarks tend to reach 90 easy without any kind of overclock.

weirdly my 1920x never broke 85 while overclocked to 4.1ghz

i checked the mounting pressure and it seems fine and the cooler works perfect with the pump running at max speed and the fans pushing air just fine

so i know its not that. any idea what can do it. or is it just my cooler saying is goodbyes?

cpu: 5950x

mobo: asus tuf pro x570

gpu: 3090 FE

ram: 32gb G.SKILL Trident Z 3200 c14

psu: Antec HCP1300w Platinum (overkill i know...got it for a good price)

thats all needed right?...i didnt study for this exam....

is it the 240mm? those temps seem to be around expected.

Nah, idle temps should be in the 40ish with any AIO, not 60 !

Are you sure the cooler is installed properly ? I've seen pics of it mounted like inversed left/right with a good part of the IHS not covered by the block...

its a 360 mm rad the first gen arctic freezer

used nth2 thermal paste as well suppose to be good thermalpaste i used mx4 for the 1920x before and it topped at 85c

while this sometimes idles at 65-70c suuuper wierd

thats the system i actully chacked the mounting and it seems perfectly fine....

i can take a pic of how the thermal paste looks and uill see what i mean

i also used cinabench r20 cus i just had it laying around =P

front mounted with what fans?

Cooler Master MasterFan SF360R

never had temp issues before it just started with this 5950x.

air flaw is also insane even on low rpm on idle u feel air at allot of pressure and i got 1 random rgb fan and 2 slim noctua fans as exhaust on the top and back

everything eles is perfectly fine even the 3090 idles at 40c and nothin over heated.

its just the cpu temps that feel wierd. i might just say fuck it and buy a new aio. i do have this first gen arctic for like 4-5 years it might just show its age

did a smoke test at a friends pc shop and this case got an insane airflow

and as said my 1920x ran perfectly fine.

it is heavily modified raidmax agusta that i modfied to mount a 360mm rad and have a better front mesh and a few other cosmetic stuff

also has a fan on the side panel 140mm that pushes more air in for the gpu. so chocking shouldn't be a issue

as of the rad it actually got 6 fans. 3 front 3 back.

again i can show a video of a piece of paper in there and u will see how much pressure it got even at low rpm

Get the Freezer II 360, with the offset AMD mounting bracket it kept my heavily overclocked 5950x I had before, rather cool. 82C was max temp I saw after 2 hours of torture in Cinebench R23. This was using Thermal Grizzly Kryonaut paste in a Meshify 2 with good quality fans all around (no need for push pull on AIO but do it if you have the space). Arctic's own fans are better than most aftermarket fans out there so don't swap them unless its for higher static pressure ones.
