Phone changes to screensaver when physically on top of other phone.

 Share

So my girlfriends Huawei Nova 5T changes to a screensaver that is normally not enabled as soon as it is layed directly on top of my Oneplus 6T. Anyone know why this is happening? Cant really find an answer myself.

Thanks in advance! :)

probably magnets.

My Note 20 has a magnet in it that reacts to the case cover, or other magnets when placed near it.

I would say nfc, but magnets would be funny.

I’d bet you’re in the phones and tablets category (my domain haha)

We tried it with both our covers off, still happens, but who knows if it still some kind of magnetism inside the phones.

If you could find a third camera, send a video! That sounds really funny

grab a decent magnet and hold it to the phone screen where the magnet is on the case cover.

My old phone would go into "driving mode" if you held a sufficiently strong magnet to back (i.e. you set it on a magnetic stand in your car, in theory). Didn't find this out until my friend put a gigantic neodymium magnet on it (longish story) like four years after I got it.

Sadly I don't have one around right now, but I could maybe grab one tomorrow, if anyone is still interested by then.
