Anyone here know anything about the C64?

I was fiddling with my c64 mobo while I accidentally forgot to flip the power switch and now all I get is a black screen, I can confirm it worked before this, took the SID out though unfortunately the PLA is not socketed. Dido I fry something ?

I should and there was a hefty ram error with a flashing, bugging out ?syntax, also one ram chip was getting real hot

Well, that chip that got super hot probably died and there's a short circuit inside it. You'd have to desolder and replace that ram chip. 

Either way, desolder that chip and check with a multimeter if there's continuity between the voltage and ground pins of the chip ... if the resistance is super low, then the ram chip is gone and must be replaced.
