What about using the cards for what they realy were made for? GAMING.

Yeah, it's stories like this that make me not want to do coin mining. I have a friend who literally got a million dollars in bit coins, and the next day his pool shut down, losing everything.

I would suggest moving over to a more profitable coin such as Dogecoin, Mooncoin or something along those lines. But, yeah, with scrypt asic mining now a thing it won't be worth mining with GPU much longer. Also fiddle with your settings, it always helps.
