the battery on my laptop does not last long at all. could i just use my laptop without the battery or not. and is it safe.

What is the laptop. Why whould you do that.  Why not keep battery in but keep plugged in.

It would be fine to just leave the battery in and just keep it plugged in.

Leave the battery in and leave it plugged in, replacment batteries are not that expensive on amazon if you are willing to spend on that laptop.

 The Wannabe is no longer. Replaced by the Flotilla. If you replace every part of a computer is it still the same computer?

Most batteries will last around 900 - 1000 charge cycles. So around 2 1/2 years. If you've left it plugged in that can also cause deterioration.

It's also not the highest end, most battery friendly configuration. AMD eats the battery pretty bad.

It sounds like your battery is just toast. It's a fairly old laptop so it's not too surprising.

In the future you might want to add more information in your post, as well as your title. Something like "laptop battery doesn't hold a charge" or something like that.

Also, quoting people or tagging their user name with an @ symbol will let them know that you've replied :)
