here is what looks like a totally normal usb charging cable from jbl

and here is its hidden secret, like usb c, it can go in both ways, unlike regular usb a or usb micro b,i have to ask, 1 why aren't all cables like this, 2 are there ant other cables that are like this and longer?

for reference here is what a normal usb connector looks like

i would post a video of me plugging it in both ways but it is too big for the post and the cable looks the same both ways so you wouldn't be able to tell from a photo

the reason these aren't common is becuase if you center the pins on the port like that it has to bend in order to work with the old sockets. Which wears out both the male and female ends

It's a thing because, as far as I'm aware, the resistance when you plug it in is greater than what you expected, so you think that you plugged it in incorrectly, so you go to plug it in the other way, but that one has even more resistance, because it is plastic on plastic. So then, frustrated at falling for the same error for the 1000th time, you plug it in the correct way.
