MSI Radeon™ RX 6700 XT MECH 2X 12G OC

gasolin

I can get a new MSI Radeon™ RX 6700 XT MECH 2X 12G OC for the same price as the cheapest rtx 3070

I have a rx 6600 xt and it's good at 3440x1440 144hz, i used to own a rx 6700 xt and a 2560x1440 165 hz monitor and that card was slight overkill but not by much

Then i got a 3440x1440 144hz monitor and could have used the extra power a rx 6700 xt have, especially in far cy 6

Is it worth upgrading ? Biggest concern is coil whine, temps and noise also i don't really see any reviews of the MSI Radeon™ RX 6700 XT MECH 2X 12G OC

Honestly i dont see how a 6600XT is performing THAT well at that resolution without some tinkering, but honestly at this point id just wait. Since next gen is right around the corner current pricing may change, as AMD Gpus have been pretty available for a while.

The RX 6700XT isn't that stronger compared to the 6600XT to justify the upgrade, especially not with today's prices.

At least get a 6800XT. Or wait for the next generation.

1440p UW is roughly 60% of 4K while 2K is roughly 44%. 1440p UW is roughly 34% more pixels than regular 1440p so to get the same performance you'd need a 35% stronger card.

rx 6800 xt is still way to expensive, rx 6800 xt is extremly  hard to get if you try to buy a ref card at amd

Cheapest rx 6800 xt where i live costs more than 2 rx 6600 xt  and almost as much as a cheap rx 6600 xt and rx 6700 xt

Why are you buying GPUs so frequently?  No, it's not worth upgrading.  Upgrades within a generation are almost never worth it, especially only one model class up.   Cards are gonna be a lot cheaper in the future, so if yours is doing what it needs to do, you should exercise some introspection and think about what you actually want here.  If it's a dopamine rush from clicking add to cart, you should probably try to divert your focus to a hobby, a skill, work, or a relationship.  These big boy legos we like to fuss about so much won't bring you any real satisfaction.

The point of your PC is to play games.  Not to be a flashy cool thing that you show off on forums.  If it plays the game and the game looks nice, carry on.  Your money is you selling your time, don't waste it on meaningless 'upgrades' that won't actually do anything for you.

Cards are getting cheaper

A rx 6700 xt used to cost around 7000 of my currency for one of the cheap cards, now it's possible to get one for 5500 but only a few

I play far cry 6 and control (taking a brake from these 2 games while playing Grid legends) i can't unless im way under medium in the graphics get over 100 fps in 3440x1440

Atm i have tried mabye 10 times to buy a cheap ref rx at amd, failed every time.

At current prices im able to get a rx 6700 xt, not a rx 6800 xt

Theres nothing flashy about showing off on forums, when having a MSI Radeon RX 6700 XT Mech 2X OC HDMI 3xDP 12GB, XFX Radeon RX 6700 XT  Speedster SWFT309 Core or ASUS Radeon RX 6700 XT Dual OC HDMI 3xDP 12GB

IF you can wait for further drop in price, do that. The 6700 XT is good for 1440P gaming, but 3440x1440 does require it to do a fair bit more work. IF you wan pretty good framerate at 3440x1440, the the card to look at is the RX 6800 (non-XT) but only IF it isn't like twice as much as the RX 6700/6600 XT.

The RX 6800 is a very capable 4K card, unlike the 6700 XT which would struggle with many AAA titles, so doing 3440x1440 would net you better framerate. This is just an idea though, because prices still aren't that great....

I had a Mech 2X 6700xt for about 6-8 months until I got my hands on an RTX 3080. I ran it at 1440p, but not ultrawide. It did well enough to get me 50-65 fps in my most demanding game at nearly max settings, Cyberpunk (but no ray tracing, obviously). When FSR came out for Cyberpunk, it was able to handle 60-70 fps most of the time. Other games, it did 90+ fps depending on age of game, settings, etc.

If you're looking for a long-term solution to run ultrawide 1440p at ultra settings and 144 fps for years to come, for the newest games, I don't think you'll be happy enough with the 6700xt long term and will just end up switching again in a year or less. Your best bet would be to wait until the new generation and hope prices come down across the board. Save up more money and see what happens at the new releases from the GPU companies. At worst, the new releases will knock down a 6800xt and maybe the 3070 (or 3070 ti) to even lower prices, and you'll come out ahead.

What's more, if you can get a 3070, you may be better off that way. I realize the appeal of more RAM on the GPU, but even now, the 3070 seems to beat the 6700xt BEFORE you turn on DLSS, as the video below shows. Given you seem quick to jump to new GPUs pretty quickly, I don't see you running into major RAM issue with games with the 3070 before you buy another GPU.

A 6800xt will perform better at 1440p 144 fps and for longer. It's generally considered the best value in this AMD line for high end gaming. That said, even a 6800 is a big step up from 6700xt, some say 30% faster.

A rx 6800xt is just not cheap, mabye used but if it has coilwhine or the fans are loud and high temps when the fans are not loud, you can't return it

Well you seem to have answered your own question/update. You have chance to buy 6800xt, but you don't want to pay for it (go above 1000). So 6800 is still a large improvement over 6700xt for your goals.

Hardware Unboxed is a trusted source for reviews. They show the XT version of the TUF as maybe 5 fps slower than many other 6800 XTs but with better cooling than some of them. They don't have a 6800 TUF video, but generally you're not losing more than 3-5% in fps from brand to brand.

I've heard that AMD is in the process of phasing out the RX 6800, it will be replaced by an RX 6750 XT. Reason being, AMD realized it can't make much from the former which performs on a different level compared to the cards lower than it.

The upcoming RX 6750 XT, though I'm certain performs better than the regular RX 6700 XT, will never even come close to the performance of the RX 6800.

it's more temps and coilwhine rather than performance amoungst other rx 6800

Coilwhine is luck of the draw, to my knowledge, though some models can be more susceptible. Temps shouldn't be awful for that model, in the middle, though I can't speak to overclocking temps. I suggest searching for reviews on the specific models.

For me, it ran 1440p, 60Hz on High/Ultra just fine except in most intense games. Ran less intense games over 80 fps just fine at 1440p. Should be good for that resolution for a few years as long as you aren't demanding 144 fps in every game.
