IS this particular of RAM (64GB) likely to work?

So i'm looking at a 4 x16GB kit of Trident Z Specifically this kit (F4-3600C16Q-64GTZR) to use with the Gigabyte Z690 Aero G DDR4 motherboard. It's not in the QVL as far as I can see as rated speed and capacity of this kit. Given the speed and timings, is it likely to work at XMP2.0 speeds?

4x16 is a horrible config, get 2x32 instead just to make sure the board doesnt crap out cause there have been ddr4 issues on these giga boards but seems like they have mostly been fixed

 

Qvl is bullcrap and most rams will do fine, though some boards hate certain ram dies to the point of not booting, unlikely so you can get any ram you want

As far as I've read and heard 4x16GB is generally only worse because it puts extra stress in the IMC and adds additional latency to some tasks

Do you mean specifcally Z690 based DDR4 gigabyte boards?

I think it is supported. Gigabyte must have not updated their 4x kit lines. But your exact model is already in their QVL. Refer to the screenshot below.

All the 2x32GB kits at 3600Mhz seem to be CL18.  I'm running 4x16GB 3600 CL16 since I've been on Ryzen 5000 no issues.  I've had issues with older Ryzen CPUS and 4 ram chips.

You know overclocking exists right? Literally just tighten timings from 3600 cl18 to cl16 unless you got garbage ram dies, even then cl16 is overpriced asf

 

if you want something guaranteed to be good and still be somewhat cheap then go for ballistix as those come with micron chips and theyll do 4000 cl16 with ease, on single rank they can do 4500+ cl18 but thats useless unless you got apps that really rely on ram bandwidth

 

4x16 is effectively quad rank, ruining any sort of overclocking headroom and stressing the crap out of the imc so itll run hotter and need more volt
