They all use the same panels from LG Display so there is no massive difference between them. Panasonic and Sony have a slight edge for movies while LG is better for gaming.

The main thing you should be looking at is what features you need like 4K 120, VRR, etc.

What size are you looking at?

The best current tv for PURE MOVIE WATCHING is the Sony A90J. But in the end all high-end OLED TVs use the same LG panels so the differences between them are very slight and basically down to the image processing algorythms of different brands. More noticeable differences come down to extra features, like ambient lighting on Philips models or more HDMI 2.1 ports and VRR support on LG's models. So imo the LG C1 is the best overall package atm. LG also has a great track record of keeping software updates up and maybe even adding new features. My C9 (bought in 2019) still gets updates every few months, adding more apps to the smart interface and even some new features. I wouldn't go as far as calling the C1 a budget option. It offers 95% of what the A90J does while being better in other regards and is much cheaper.

If you're out for the best TV period, it might be worth waiting a few more months for the Sony A95K. It will be using a new QD-OLED panel from Samsung that will offer a significant jump in brightness and color volume compared to current LG OLED panels. Price seems to be $3000 for the 55" model and $4000 for the 65" model.

If someone did not use reason to reach their conclusion in the first place, you cannot use reason to convince them otherwise.
