Are European TVs "stuck" at 50Hz?

Shoopman

Long story short, I'm an American living in Europe. My TV blew up today so that means I'm in the market for a new one. I've never bought a TV in Europe before, and all the listings online say 50Hz or 100Hz. Will this automatically adjust to 60Hz for gaming? I don't have cable, the TV is only for Netflix and games. Same question for 30fps games, will it be stuck at 25?

Every digital era TV I have in UK will support 60 Hz. The 50/100 Hz references might just be in relation to the broadcast standard. I'd be surprised if any panel is made only to 50Hz and not 60Hz too, although there remains a possibility in cheaper/unknown models they don't put in support.

The tvs are 60hz but the the 50hz thing is a leftover between the difference of signals from analog tv long ago. The tvs differ nothing to the ones overseas.

I bought a Hisense budget model a few years back that was 50Hz, but other than that all TV's i know are 60Hz at least.

If someone did not use reason to reach their conclusion in the first place, you cannot use reason to convince them otherwise.

It will work fine.  Most should natively take 50/220 or 60/110.  What WON'T work, is the tuner.  European TV's will not work for OTA broadcasts in the USA.

As someone who lives in Europe, most new TVs have 60hz tho some broadcasts might be 50. Personally I have a 120hz TV

Reminder⚠️

I'm just speaking from experience so what I say may not work 100%

Please try searching up the answer before you post here but I am always glad to help
