Best way to buy a RTX 3080/3080Ti

r01100011

Greetings everyone,

I recently won a newegg shuffle, and I managed to get a chance (privilege?) to buy a GPU at retail price. I am wondering if this is pretty much our only hope of buying a GPU these days. Is there a better way of buying a GPU, like perhaps a wait list with a manufacturer or something like that? My friend (who I play Battlefield with) is looking for a GPU, but we have had no luck with NewEgg Shuffle so far.

Any advice would be appreciated.

Thank you.

I believe AMD has some sort of queue that opens daily, but newegg shuffle is a pretty good way also.

If you have a microcenter near you, that is your best bet. Mine has had 3080s consistently in stock, along with 3060tis and 3070tis most of the time.

Unfortunately, we do not have a microcenter where I am located, but I have friends who live in big cities. I might try asking them.

Thanks!

With money 😄

Well, if I had $2000+ a 3rd party seller is an option, but I have a terrible disdain for those that are price gouging.

To me things have gotten worse since other options have dried up.

I did the Shuffle for 3 months and got two 3080 tis at MSRP so it was a success.

EVGA has stopped auto notify on their site. My 3090 auto notifies never came up but two 3080 tis did and I bought one.

My auto notifies have disappeared on the other sites that had the feature so if I wanted a GPU now the Shuffle would be the only option.

the problem is that even msrp prices now are basically scalper prices. still others have basically covered it. shuffle, or if you really like gambling AMD does (mostly) weekly drops on thursday mornings, the queue opens around 7AM PST. best buy was dropping GPU's every thursday but it's been a few weeks, people are wondering if they are done or what the deal is.

I have been able to get two 3060 TI's on local craigslist, new, for a small markup from retail. Not full scalper but not straight MSRP. you just have to look.
