-The Division

-Star Citizen

-Assassins Creed

-NFS

-DIRT, GRID

I also want to record my game footage, taking shadow play into consideration.

Thanks =D

The GTX 760 is a bit faster, but 270X is cheaper. From what you're saying the 760 might actually be better for you, but take a look at some 270Xs. The Sapphire Toxic Edition is pretty cheap right now and it looks amazing!

The GTX 760 will be better. You can take advantage of ShadowPlay, which allows you to record game footage with a minimal 1-2% performance hit. And it is still a faster card in most situations, almost besting the R9 280.

A 760, I currently own and it is the best you can play games at ultra or very high with no problems at 1080p gaming.also you take advantage of the shadowplay feature over over and cards.

He wants to record his games meaning Shadowplay would come in handy.

And GTX760 beats the 270x in all the games he mentioned.

Seems like you're AMD fanboy...

I've owned a gtx 760 and now own a gtx 780. The gtx 760 is a great card for the money, but if you plan on playing on ultra settings with msaa on games like BF4 or even eventually star citizen I think you'll need to upgrade to something more powerful, unless you plan on doing so when you need to do so. That is only if you want to achieve the magical number of a stable 60fps. It will also depend on what resolution you will be gaming at, 1080p?

If you are going to be using shadowplay then any nvidia gpu will blow the competing card out of the water in performance as you'll have to run a recording program with AMD that will take up a lot of resources.

So 760 without a doubt.

The 270x is better for what you're doing, but see all the fanboys choose the 760.

First off, I own and msi r9 270x gaming 2gb, and I am not happy at all.

I asked this very same question on this forum months ago. People told me to go with the 760, but i took a leap of faith on amd.

Lets just say I'll never purchase another amd gpu again. My 550 ti was more reliable.

The card itself, isn't that bad, but to be honest it's hard to tell, because of the:

drivers....DRIVERS... DRIVERS!!!

Frame latency is awful. Many games stutter horribly on latest driver (Frame latency i assume)

My 550 ti always got the same fps except for ONE driver release. My amd card is all over the place.

Have I owned both a 760 and a 270x? no, but one of my close friends owns a 760, and he gets great stable gameplay, while my framerates are erratic, and sometimes unplayable do to drivers.

Buy a 760. You'll be so much happier with your purchase. My friend does great when playing battlefield 4. Me, not so much.

FYI, if anyone can has another idea to why my gaming performance is so bad i'd be glad to hear it. I have all drivers (chipset, gpu, network) updated. I ran unigine heaven on the same settings as reviewer, and got 10 fps less @1920x1080 (30fps vs 40fps) on latest drivers.

My next card will likely be a 800 series nvidia card, and I will probably never buy a amd card again.

I do have a 270X but I don't see why games are unplayable for you. There are some stutter but that's only when the game has just loaded, then everything is smooth. If you are having problems like that, make sure you are using the stable drivers, not the beta one.

Wierd.... one of my friends has a 7870 and he doesn't have any issues, he plays at 1080p prob not on latest drivers. 270x is basically an overclocked 7870. Haven't tried it for myself though...

As someone who records alot, i get almost zero frame loss recording, this due to 5ghz and RAID-0. If you want mantle, go AMD and just ise DXtory with the lagarith codec.

Here is 2 examples using GTX 480 which is a slowish card now.

760 for sure, it is more powerful and has shadow play to record your gameplay footage, one problem it is a bit more expensive than the 270x.
