Can i put a gen4 m.2 drive on A320M-K

I just bought an GIGABYTE 500GB AORUS Gen4 M.2 PCIe M.2. And i have A320M-K motherboard with ryzen 3 2200g. I dont know if it is compatibile and i cant find any help. Can someone please help mee

Yes, it will run at PCIE3.0 X4 though.

The specs for that board clearly state that it's M.2 slot supports SATA and PCIe gen 3. So you can put the drive in but it will only run at gen 3 speeds.

 

Since there is little need for gen 4 speeds for most people anyway, you should return the drive and save money by getting a gen 3 drive instead. 

Corps aren't your friends. "Bottleneck calculators" are BS. Only suckers buy based on brand. It's your PC, do what makes you happy.  If your build meets your needs, you don't need anyone else to "rate" it for you. And talking about being part of a "master race" is cringe. Watch this space for further truths people need to hear.

Sure. PCIe is forwards and backwards compatible. You of course won't get Gen4 speeds.
