How tf is this even possible? Ik its short term but it may help with oc testing cause atm cooler will not handle my e8400 over 4.4ghz or 1.43v

Is there something stupidly conductive in this "shampoo" hes using or is it just water like one comment implied?

Currently out of thermal paste so if shampoo is actually of some use then maybe ill use it till i can get some gd900 cause after being reused for 2-3 years the arctic mx4 on my 92mm has pretty much turned into a brittle thermal pad, still cools decently though and now it keeps the cpu mostly clean

Is there something so wrong with existing thermal paste, that people want to risk expensive CPUs, trying to DIY new solutions?

Nope, its just an interesting thing, ofc thermal paste will be better, esp durability wise considering that my mx4 that has turned into a thermal pad still cools the cpu decently well for what it is

Shampoo is water, surfactant, and organic salts.

I got curious and went through old government analytical lab reports and apparently there's a slight negative correlation between concentration of a salt in water and its thermal conductivity. That thermal conductivity is likely just coming from water and whatever surfactant gives it the more viscous quality.

Obviouslly, I don't recommend this, but it was interesting reading.

It's entirely possible that I misinterpreted/misread your topic and/or question. This happens more often than I care to admit. Apologies in advance.
