Hey I own a samsung q60a TV that seats far from the router. I have an CAT5E ethernet cable near the tv that i thought should fix the problem, but it seems that the ethernet port on the tv supports 100mpbs max.
the weird thing is, wifi can get me more than 100mbps but it seems like the connection is less stable.
thought about buying the d-link DAP-1620 as it has a 1000mbps ethernet port i can use, and just put it near the tv to get faster speeds and less degradation of the signal as the source is right next to the tv.

anyone has ever used this item? according to the specs it should be good but i'm not sure if i can trust that.

Id just use the 100m ethernet, it will be more than pleny for anything you could be streaming online(more than enough for 4k online streams and most 4k blueray rips at full quality). And its more reliable than wifi(wifi will often get lower speeds if there are other devices or interference).

Also the wifi on the tv probably isn't great, so your not getting much faster speeds.

The thing is i have the same problem with another samsung tv in my room.
the tv sits near the router and i get much better performance (4k movies in netflix stutter with ethernet and with wifi it works fine)
considering this tv is much more expensive then the one i have i think that something like that can fix the problem (wifi should at least be comparable between the two) .
I just want to make sure this wifi extender is good enough and I didn't find any reviews online

The wifi issues are almost certainly caused by channel interference. Somebody correct me if I'm wrong but most smart TVs and streamers are still locked into 2.4ghz where your neighbors smart expresso machine is  hogging 40mhz. Typically a new wifi "router" fixes the problem because it's smarter at finding holes in the 2.4ghz mess, not because its faster.

Your TV has a 100Mb fast ethernet connection because that's all it needs. It can only play one stream at a time and even 4k streamed doesn't come close to fast ethernet speeds.

5GHZ Wifi is supported on this tv, I have to use it in order to watch high quality streams or it stutters much more

100Mbps is plenty for movie streaming. But if you want more you can also just get a USB to ethernet adapter and plug your cable in there. Even if the TV only has a USB 2.0 port that's still 480Mbps. I did this with my LG TV. Check this video out:

If someone did not use reason to reach their conclusion in the first place, you cannot use reason to convince them otherwise.

after trying it with an adapter lying around it doesn't seem to work.
maybe I need a specific supported adapter?

I did it with a generic adapter. Not a specific supported one. Maybe your USB ports don't allow for ethernet for some reason.
