I have the Worst Luck....

I had to RMA my GTX 780 because it was giving display errors when I got it, and now I get my replacement card and it's DOA. I'm quite frustrated with Newegg and PNY, even though it could just be my luck.

Anyways, I find the fact that you have to pay return shipping for Newegg RMA's, this is costing me nearly $60 now and it's quite outrageous.

Anyone else had frustrating experiences like this? I want to feel like I'm not the only one ;-;

I heard you shouldn't get PNY GPU's but anyways the only issue I have had so far is that my motherboard an ASUS p8Z77-M when I got it had a dying PCI-E lane and it was the 16x one. I had no idea that was the problem so for almost a year I had the agonizing torture of my display driver crashing and going critical and I couldn't figure out why. Than I switched PCI-E lanes and it hasn't happened since.

this is why you don't buy at newegg...

amazon for the win, you can return anything if it's not in perfect conditions or not working within 30 days AND they pay you back for how much it cost you to send it back to them..

So no cost for shipping :D

I bought a GTX 770 Lightning from TigerDirect online, it was factory overclocked too high and unstable.  I returned it to a local TigerDirect and upgraded to a GTX780.  Painless and very happy.

Well guess what I just found out? If you contact them when you file the RMA, THEN they pay the return shipping. Way to trick me into paying their due shipping...

Even better, no refund warranty. I HAVE to get a replacement or I lose my $550.

In my case the only place to buy GPUs locally is Best Buy, they sell reference gtx 770 for $432... I have to buy from online vendors if I want to save hundreds in a build lol

A Reference GTX 770 for $432 is a horrible deal.

Was planning on going for them in the first place, but gah, those prices >.>

Canada shouldn't be that different :/

I've never bought a card there though lol

Compare the cheapest 780:

To the cheapest EVGA 780:

From a financial standpoint, the PNY card seemed like a better choice, when I thought that it wouldn't matter what company was behind it (Besides Zotac I expected them all to be the same essentially, turns out I was wrong)

Looks like those RMAs made up the difference though :P

I've had some bad experience with newegg fairly recently, and bad experience with PNY as well. I've pretty much sworn both of them off unless in newegg's case, they have something that is impossible for me to get anywhere else.
