is there a difference between the d15 chromax and the d15s chromax in term of temps the 15s is 15 to 20 euro cheaper for me

The difference between the D15 and D15S is the extra fan that comes with the D15, which explains the price difference already.

As Noctua explains, the D15 and D15S have similar performance: https://noctua.at/en/whats-the-difference-between-nh-d15-and-nh-d15s

Looking at the performance numbers - temperature and noise - they appear very very similar, so neither is a bad choice.

Im currently changing my cpu cooler bc my ek aio 360mm is dead ( broken pump) and thinking about getting a Noctua NH-D15 or NH-D15S in chromax blax ( is there a difference other than ram clearance?  im using vengence lpx ram)

but will this fit with my gpu ? im using a r9 5950x on an x570-f Gaming MB and an RTX 3090 Strix oc

if it doesnt fit any other recommendations ?

The mobo+GPU+RAM combo should fit, here is someone with a similar combo and it looks to fit just fine: https://pcpartpicker.com/b/CM3tt6

Do keep in mind your case needs to also have the right clearance (i.e. it needs to be able to fit 165mm tall coolers)

I use LPX as well and it fits. The front fan can be adjusted up to clear.

I'm not actually trying to be as grumpy as it seems.

I will find your mentions of Ikea or Gnome and I will /s post.

Difference between using just the 1 fan in the middle or 2 fans is just 2-3 degrees C. Another cool fact is that NH-D15 is technically also 160mm tall (with just the mid fan). The extra 5mm listed come from how much the front fan is moved up on top of the installed RAM sticks.
