My system won't boot if I set my RAM to the only available XMP profile

r3xx3r

Hi all,

Thank you so much in advance for any help I am given. I set the system to the XMP profile for 3200Mhz in the BIOS and my computer tries to start and fails 3 times then requires me to enter the bios to fix the issue. I tried setting the ram to 3200mhz but leaving everything else auto and that fails as well. Any advice?

Xmp profiles don't always work.. but you can try

Entering all the values yourself

Updating bios

Updating chipset driver

Or use a different kit all together

try setting it to 3200 manually with these timings

let everything else on auto except voltage. as per the specs set it to 1.35v , maybe 1.34/1.36 if that doesn't work. if still no luck try more voltage,  dont go above 1.4v , 1.45v *max* and of course on your own risk (i probably wouldn't go above 1.4 without further research)

OR rma the ram, check if its on the QVL, etc.

You may also need to bump up the voltage on the memory when dialing in the manual settings. May be the only way to get it stable.

yeah this can be weird, when i oc my ram to 3600 it wouldn't boot at "xmp voltage" of 1.35v, bumped it to 1.36v and after training it booted no problem ~

So I enabled the XMP profile, but instead of upping the voltage I lowered the speed to 3000mhz. So far that is working. Wil the 200mhz make any noticeable difference?

No, you won't even notice it.
